Barb, a GreenIsTheNewRed.com reader, wrote in to the Bill Maher show (producers are looking for show ideas) asking that he discuss the labeling of environmental and animal advocates as “terrorists.” She asked that I post some info in case anybody else wants to do the same. Here’s a bit more from her:

I thought it might be worth a try to get Bill Maher to discuss AETA on one of his upcomming shows, which series begins Aug. 24th. If you think there is any chance he might take me up on the offer, it would be great if you would do a mass mailing to all your contacts asking them to write to the show as I just did (see below), urging Bill to discuss AETA. Unless of course, you have personal access to Bill and the powers that be. This is what I just sent via contact page here:

“Saw Bill Maher on Larry King last night mention that you may still be looking for topics to discuss for his upcoming series beginning in a few weeks.

Being that Bill is such an animal advocate I thought it would be great if he could discuss AETA the Animal Enterprise Terriorism Act that went into law last Nov. ’06. There was a big discussion on this topic at the Animal Rights Conference held in Los Angeles a few weeks ago and I was shocked to learn just how devastating this law is to our constitutional right to free speech and assembly, and especially to the 6 activists sitting in jail who were the first tried under the original law (see www.shac7.com)

Feel free of course to throw in a link to GreenIsTheNewRed.com. Thanks Barb!
