More Good News: PETA Action Alert on So-Called “Terrorism” Legislation

More good news: Another national animal advocacy group has come out against the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act. PETA has distributed this action urging members to get active and block this sweeping legislation that labels non-violent activism as “terrorism.”

I usually don’t post things like this on GNR, but the involvement of HSUS and PETA in opposing this legislation is a promising new development. Until now the “nationals,” as many grassroots activists call them, have remainded disturbingly silent on this legislation.

PETA’s Action Center Alert

Dear XXX,

A group of politicians, at the prodding of the meat, vivisection, fur,
puppy mill and circus industries, are trying to rush a law through
Congress this week called the “Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act.” The
bill is so broad and vague that it could be used to prosecute people who
speak up against animal abuse through peaceful boycotts.

Please call your federal (not state) representative and senators TODAY
OR FIRST THING TOMORROW and ask that they oppose this legislation.

For your representative, the bill number is “House Resolution 4239,”
the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act. For your senators, the bill is
called “Senate Bill 3880,” the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act.

To find your representative and senators phone numbers, please visit

For animals,
