Recap of Congressional Briefing on Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act

The briefing went pretty well yesterday. Representative Kucinich had to stay in another hearing, his staff said, and wasn’t able to make it. But Congressional staff from the offices of Representatives Carolyn Maloney, Tom Lantos and Mike Ross, among others, attended along with a group of lobbyists, consultants and reporters. With so much taking place on the Hill right now, I think it was a great turnout.

Despite Dems taking control of both chambers, the prospects of the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act being on the Congressional radar for repeal is still very, very slim, but raising awareness about the Green Scare in as many venues as possible is one step in that process. You never know who in the audience may take the information and act on it.
