after watching coastwatch on green planet channel. the sea sheppard has been carrying weapons and ramming and sinking ships for years. why do these pirates get away with it? is it a wonder that the distress call wasn't answered? i wish i would have been informed of this earlier. they need to be sunk. they don't respect the laws of the seas, they make up their own. i would have had the two that boarded the boat walk the plank. who were they pansy pottsy and the other dude. that peter hammerstead –skinny little wimp–should be picked up and thrown like a harpoon old style. they are such hypocrits.

Hey Liberation, from what I have seen, you are correct in the assessment that this is war. I have no problem with the crew of the Steve Erwin doing what they believe they have to do to defend whales. Even though I personally think Paul Watson is a egomaniacal nutjob who needlessly puts people's lives in danger, I still respect their right to stand by what they think is right. Conversely, I think the Japanese have the right to fish and defend themselves against attack. The problem I have is all of the hand wringing and cries of “terrorist!” when the Japanese do defend themselves. If Paul Watson, who has rammed Japanese ships, and the Sea Shepherd crew want to continue this “war” then they should be ready for the consequences and quit their crying.

isn't this funny that these comments are appearing now that the new season of whale wars has started. Hmmm, strange coincidence? Dgmunn, you write “who started what”? The Japanese are the ones who have started this war by illegally whaling in the southern whale sanctuary. They kill endangered whales, someone has to stop them. Thankfully the IWC has not lifted the ban on whaling even though the corrupt Japanese tried to bribe the members on the commission. The Sea Shepherds will continue to wage this war until it is won. Sure, call them what you want, but one thing is clear, the Japanese are the real terrorists. The Sea Shepherd will stop harassing the whaling fleet when they stop killing whales. Real simple.

remeber when the steve irwin had 2 people board the other ship without permission? i would have taken them back to japan to stand trial as pirates or terrorist.

Wah wah wah. What a bunch of cry babies. As far as I am concerned, the crew of the Sea Shepherd provoked this attack. If you are going to wage a campaign against another entity employing the tactics they use, you'd better get used to people defending themselves. The Japanese fleet has shown tremendous restraint concerning the Steve Erwin and its crew. It's amazing that they haven't been blown out of the water yet. All of this because they want to impose their beliefs on other people. Typical elitist attitude.

it is easy to see that they japanese whaling industry is just fighting back. the acts of the steve irwin and the captain are clearly acts of pirates or better in this day and age, terrorism. i don't support the whaling thing, but there were limits set up so these people can make a living. who are you people–GOD? if i were to have been on that boat when the steve irwin rammed it, i would have shot back with lead and not nuts and bolts. i view it as the same type of pirates that are in somalia, or the same type of terrorist that attacked the towers. the steve irwin declared war on hard working people and are innocent to the point of just wanting to make a living. how hypercritical is that–they are making money off animal planet and DVD sales,give me a break. in the days of old time–there would have been cannons shot at them–not water

All in defense of what they do best: reckless murder of God's creation. They are the terrorists. Animal murderers are the terrorists – they commit genocide on animals and nobody blinks an eye. They terrorize and destroy life. That, in itself, is terrorism. If someone went around killing life – killing LIFE, that, in itself, is terrorism. Activists do everything they can to end the terrorism campaign against living animals. Why doesn't anyone see that THEY ARE THE REAL TERRORISTS?
