It seems we have all forgotten that without consuming other life, we cease to exist. Hunters who hunt for food are doing exactly what they should be doing, consuming other life. animals hunt other animals to survive, what makes us different? I think people should distinguish between "sport" hunting, where animals are used for prey and killed for sport, and hunters who hunt for food to feed themselves and their families. Just because vegans think that they are somehow saving the planet, they are using a system that grew out of overpopulation. Agriculture is not what our bodies are designed for. We are hunters and gatherers, that is where we began. But I totally agree that the abuse and torture of animals, including humans, is utterly wrong, but ALL my hunter friends, hunt and eat all their prey, and track any animal they have not killed immeiately until they find them. Hunters for food are much more conscious of what and how they kill their food, please try not to villify people who try to feed their families and connect them to sport hunters with automatic weapons who kill for sport. Do you feel the Native Americans are murderers too, since they are hunters and gatherers, as well as growers of vegetables and grains? Specifics really help, whereas generalizations are lame and misleading. Thank you Will for your website and your devotion to 1st amendment rights, I will be in touch, I am writing a book on all of the abuses that have arisen from our "national interests" and would love to interview you when the time arises. Keep up the good work.

Those people pictured in the powerpoint have a good case for slander, etc..
They are frightening, implicated in criminal activity, and I would never hire them.
Lawsuits often yield resources for more action. In this case, clear evidence. Sue.

Yes I was just about to say to Joe what Kathy said for me, pretty much. Thank you Kathy.
In addition, as for your definition of murder, Joe, there is also another one that describes it as, "to kill or slaughter inhumanely or barbariously", which is just what happens to the wildlife and fish when they are hunted(or MY word is more like stalked and ambushed) and caught, esp those who are shot with bow and arrows, where they suffer for DAYS on end from punctured lungs and VERY slow suffocation and drowning in their own blood, and pulled out of the water with a hook in their EXTREMELY SENSITIVE lips, thrashing and fighting for their lives.
These animals are LIVING BEINGS, just like humans are! They are NOT here for us to "manage" by killing, maiming, abusing, and eating them, any more than they here for us to wear or use for our own entertainment agendas.
As for the over-population problem, if we would leave the natural predators ALONE, instead of making rugs, clothes, food, luggage, etc out of them we wouldn't have that problem--animal populations would be allowed to manage themselves, in the natural order of things, and it was meant to be. Also, if we'd respect animals' territory instead of running them out of their homes with industrialization and housing developments being put RIGHT in their home path, they wouldn't have to go clamouring for a place in the world by running out in the roads and being hit by cars, winding up in people's back yards in search of food because the vegatation they would normally feed on is gone, [thanks to us brilliant humans] breaking into people's houses looking for shelter because they're forests, swamps, and
lands are disappearing, thus creating conflicts with us that we've ulitmately brought on ourselves with our greed and selfishness.
We need to realize that we are NOT the only species on Earth! We need to start coming up with ways in which to build and play that won't cut into the habitats of the creatures who share this world with us and are here for their OWN reasons and to serve their own purposes, and to have a state of mutual, non-might-makes-right, respect for their space and their rightful place in the world.

Thank you, Harry, for that voice of reason.

As for what you've done, Joe-- preserving the wilderness so that people can murder (MY definition) animals and fish is NOT doing anything beneficial. No doubt you have contributed greatly to the cause of Animal Welfare, but most Animal Rights people see AW for what it really is--the continued mistreatment of animals while easing the conscience of abusers. So--what you have "accomplished" means nothing to me and the fact that you dismiss human population control as a "ridiculous suggestion" just goes to show how out of touch with the environment you really are.

My point is that I find it ridiculous for you to complain about being victimized while you making a living from victimizing others. People like you should really learn from your moment of standing in the shoes of another but, remarkably, you never seem to do so.

+5 Kathy

Humans are indeed the only ones with seriously problematic population. Overpopulated animals aren't destroying the life support systems of the planet. And most of the time, animal populations are only thrown out of balance when humans massacre predators (for example, aerial gunning wolves, gassing coyotes in their dens or poisoning them with arsenic, and so on).

Come on, McCain never did any labor in his life? He was in the military! Never rode a bus? Not even as a schoolkid? I am not even a fan of his, but this is not true. Transplants from living donors? This kind of stuff makes people think we're all wacky. I love animals and defend them all I can, but when people go around blowing stuff up and wearing masks breaking into places and tossing stuff at passersby it only makes the average Joe and Jane Blow, the ones we're trying to convince, think all AR people are crazy and/or terrorists. This does NOT help the cause, and I love animals enough to consider that.

Kathy, the definition of murder by Webster is "the killing of another human being under conditions specifically covered in law". I have never committed such an act. I and my colleagues have done more for animal welfare and the environment in a month than you or any AR group has ever done! We are just now finishing a project that if successful will save the Hudson River fishery. We have saved thousands of acers of forest from development and made them into public land for all to hunt, fish, trap, hike, bike, camp and enjoy. I have tracked down, caught and prosecuted polluters. What have you done?

As for your ridiculous suggestion of human control, who should we start with...you?
