I can't speak to the information on the support websites, but I think one can assume that if the information wasn't posted there it's because the defendants were not trying to pack the courtroom. As to this site, I simply did not have the information until a few days before.

i can't believe no one posted this around at all. for people who can easily take a short train ride to show up for this, it's disheartening that none of the support websites or this site posted anything about it for local supporters

It's really unbelievable that corporations have so much power these days that they can erode our Constitutional rights. Whether or not people believe in AR (or any of the other causes that are targeted as being against the financial interests of corporations), I would hope they would be able to see what's happening and do what they can to stop it.

What Joe and people like him don't seem to get is that we're talking about people who were branded as terrorists, and given prison sentences of up to 6 years for running a website. Playing devils advocate for a second, and assuming that they were guilty of posting things on their site that ran outside the bounds of the First Amendment, where is the proportionality in the sentencing? I doubt that people who post child pornography on their sites get 6 years in a maximum security federal prison. Hell, I'm pretty sure as long as you didn't actually shoot the footage, you could post a snuff film online and be out of prison in less time.
If it's children that you're really worried about there are way larger threats out there than animal rights activists.

That black Fax thing... wow. I mean, I was reading thinking "What a creative and great idea" and then reading further seeing "two speeches. Three years in prison." It's so scary.
I can't believe what "the law" gets away with sometimes. They manage to stretch the law to incriminate whomever they want and manage to put holes in it to allow animal cruelty (like the farm animals not being included in welfare laws deal).

Thanks for the entry.

Christine, you dare to compare children of people who work for a legal lab to that of child molesters who prey on these children? It doesn't matter that none of the children listed on the Shac site were never harmed, the fact remains that the shac 7 made the choice to post the information and put the children in harms way.

Great reporting Will - The government's "arguments" just make me sick and then the distraction of the Court towards children (who were never harmed)! I hope these judges see through these tactics and choose to uphold the prior U.S. Supreme Court decisions in faovr of true free speech.

Today, you can type in your zip code and the govenment has posted each sex offenders' (child molester or rapist, etc.) address and picture on the web. I don't understand the double standard of why the government is immune by acting in the public interest and the SHAC7 isn't.
