Sorry that your way of life isn't sustainable, kristopher. and although i don't trust the Democratic party or Al Gore, I wouldn't call him the left, either. People need to realize we have the equilibrium of the world all out of whack, and sacrifice will be necessary to right it. It is too bad the government is out of step, but when is it not?

Kristopher:
Did you read the article? I think you're completely missing the point of the "green is the new red" analogy. Or, perhaps it is more accurate to say that your comments about how "socialist ideals will take hold in the form of global warming" are showing how this analogy--comparing the "Red Scare" crackdown of the 40s and 50s to the crackdown on so-called eco-terrorism today--is eerily appropriate.
Kris is right and wrong about some things. I do see the double stanards that are out there. Gore and Bush are one in the same. Bush lies to the people and tells them that Islamic terriorist are beating down your door and it's up to him to save the day. Give up your rights if you want to live. Gore lies to people and tells them that the world will some day turn into one big ball of water. Its up to him to save the day. Give up your rights if you want to live. Leftist complain that Bush wire taps and invades your private lives without stopping to think that Gore and his supporters want the same thing. They will use global warming to control how you live. Al Bush is a liar don't fall for it. Stand up against the CIA and Green warriors that want nothing more that total control over you. Left/ Right I see no difference.

Green is the new red. It will only be a matter of time before socialist ideals will take hold in the form of global warming. Private ownership of land will be a thing of the past. The feds will take your land and say that it is for the good of the global community. You will only be permitted to travel certin distances unless permitted by some government group because travel at free will can damage the air and land. There will be a restruction on the goods you will be allowed to buy because industries cause negative global effects. People will lose jobs because alternative fuels will cause oil refineries, coal mines, and lumber yards to close, but it's ok because it's in the name of Global Warming pervention. There will be a limit on howbig families can grow because over population can cause food shortages. There will be a restriction of the number of hours you can have your lights in your home or business on because unnessary use of power is harmful to the environment. Your choices of goods to purchase will also be taken away. Only earth friendly products will be for sale, and there will be a limit on how much you can buy. Government agencies will be created to police all matter involving any violations to global warming rules. People will be kept in line or face jail time and penalties. 2020 will be a grand year indeed if your views of the world are Socialistict or Communistict. The Enviormental terriorst will be the establishmental police of the future. I have no doubt that Green will win out. It's all over the news, Hollywood, and in the halls of government. What should be a nobel cause will, like the Russian revolt of 1917, be turned into a way to control the masses. It will make the Bush presidency look very similar to that of the last Czar of Russia. Both existed during unpopular wars, both were unpopular among the people, and both faced revolts at home. Russia turned red and the world now will turn Green. It might sound some what extreme, even as I write this I can see that, but as history has shown it will surely come to pass. Thank you commrade Gore.

Very good article. The speculation that anarchists are "traitors" depends on your definition of being a traitor. Anarchy only seeks to liberate people and create a society based upon equality and freedom for all. Anarchy is what this battle is about whether they define themselves as anarchists or not because it is the placing of the human race above each other (speciesism) that is a hierarchy in itself that we need to focus on eliminating, regardless of whether you believe in having an anarchist society or not. Anarchists are only "traitors" to the government, and those who believe in hierarchy, they are the friends of freedom and equality though, and the idea that an anarchist is an enemy only stems from a misunderstanding of the actual concepts behind it, in which I would encourage more to read upon it to understand more.
The victims of the green scare deserve our acts of solidarity. I don't care what it is labeled, whether they are called "terrorists", "saboteurs", "freedom fights", "anarchists", or "environmental activists", it is the actual actions which they are taking which are in an attempt ot make a better world to live in and stop the rape of Mother Earth and the murder of innocent animals, which are important. Labels can be assigned but in the end it's what these people are doing and the significance of their actions that make it so they deserve support. They aren't killing anyone, or harming anyone physically, and if the Capitalist system must put profit before life, then others are forced to respond to make it so life will be put before profit.

I feel sorry for this "Dominic." Most people involved in the military are prone to violence, so his tone does not surprise me. I am a proud animal activist, myself. I am also a suburban housewife. I volunteer in my community quite a bit: unwanted animals, unwed mothers, the homeless and hungry. Would you consider me a "wacko?" I don't think so. Instead of criticizing "do-gooders" such as animal rights activists, why don't you do something positive to give back to your community.

Punching puppies in the face? This was filmed?
Dessecting live monkeys? Falsifying scientific data?

Why is the FBI not investagating these acts?
When the law is corrupt...it leads to violence.
That is why we are supposed to have good laws in the first place.
Now just where does it say...when the government becomes so corrupt...the people have a DUTY to have a revolution...oh yeah..on one of those "dirty old pieces of paper" as President Bush said..the Bill of Rights and the Constitution of the United States.

its is so depressing to hear a comment like dominic's. His responses are indicative of the kind of dog-headed and aggresive ignorance that it seem the powers that be subscribe to.

its has been said many time that when the option for peaceful revolution is taken away it encourages violence. It is unfourtunet but true. I dont not condone violence means to achieve an end, but i do sympethize with those that are frustrated enough to consider it. Only because of how frustrated they must be. It has also been said most revolutionaries begin their path with nothing but love in their hearts

Those that understand the world as one living organism made up of countless parts - realize that we all have intrinsic value. When we fail to understand this, and "other" the rest of the planet we are able to falsely remove our being from the greater whole. Under these circumstances great evils against the whole are possible, because of the ignorance of how one is related to the whole.

animals, plants, bugs, bacteria, etc.. exist as one, have complex relationships, and are utterly interconnected. It is only the undeveloped mind that has been bread to think otherwise that does not see this.

when an animal activists says animals have intrinsic value and should not ever be taken for granted, intentionally treated with malice, or not respected they do so with great love for that animal presuppose on the belief they are deeply connected to that animal. This is the reality of human's place in the world.

it may be a better strategy to instill this value in people than take a reactionay approach that gets oneself labeled as criminal or terrorist within a political structure that is build on the "othered" state of the natural word (which includes animals)

i have great love for you beautiful people who are working to progress our barbaric relationships with animals. Namaste
