[...] It is so broad that it has had a chilling effect on free speech. The law hasn’t outlawed animal rights activism, but it has made activists think twice about using their rights. This was the primary point I raised in my Congressional testimony against the law in 2006, and since then the political climate has become even more toxic. The first use of the law was based on activists allegedly chalking slogans on the sidewalk and wearing bandanas. The Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act is an attempt by corporations to use the power of fear in order to silence their opposition. [...]

The activist will put President Buch's "RESOLVE" to shame!! Be prepared corporate murderers of innocent lives! The activists will be back with a vengance! This IS STILL Everyone's AMERICA, to include those innocent animals you kill without a blink of an eye. I hope you have nightmares every night, that scare the crap out of you and your lives are a progressive HELL! I hope you spend all your blood money on shrinks and lawyers, cause you'll need them!
If Bush signes off on this deadly legislation, AETA he won't have a vote to count on, for anything. He can kiss his supporters, ADIOS!
AETA is all about paid murder, if that's legal, than you have to let everyone out of jail!

Will - Excellent speecha nd sadly so true. I am trying not to be disheartened by what is going on and I truly fear the consequences of AETA and how it got to where it did so quietly and speedy. It is more serous and will affect people adversely more then they realize, I fear. How can government oppose those who feel complelled by true compassion and intergrity to help those who cannot speak and/or help themselves? That is what aniamal and environment activitism is to me. It is positive, proactive, and caring for others. It's doing something for the good of the world for our generations and those who who will follow. It is doing something out of the goodness of our hearts without looking for fame or monetary gain. Our FREEDOM is one of our most precious rights we have and NO ONe has the right to take that away from ANYONE, even those who try to repress or take it away. My parents came from a repressed country as did I and I will NEVER give that up now. How do I as one person get others to realize the terrible perile we are in? I DO NOT FEAR THE TRUTH!!! Keep up the good work. Will this email be censored, I wonder?

Thank you, Will -- for this wonderful speech. You are so right -- the vast majority is still acting as if nothing isgoing to happen. They just don't believe the repression could happen here. REPRESSION! This is definitely a good name for what is happening.
