I believe humans are an infestation upon the Earth, and I am not an eco-terrorists. It appears that the natural state of a planets in our solar system (and there are NINE planets) is lifeless and rocky (or gassy – as the case may be); therefore ALL living things are an infestation of this planet. Given the odds, whatever events destroy the entire human race (and it will die out eventually) will likely kill all other living things on our planet – and only then will our planet be able to move back to its natural state of lifelessness.

The movie sucks. It's sentimental tripe. And if I hear one more of these Malthusian arguments about “overpopulation” again, I propose that we relieve ourselves of the burden of the environmentalist segment of the population.

All animals “exploit” the environment to the extent that they can, and human beings are no exception. It's dubious to assume that human beings are separate from nature, anyway. It's therefore quite strange to say that what we are doing is “unnatural.”

The real eco-terrorists are the corporations that plunder where ever they can and many have described this well.

I really liked the movie and loved its anti cororate, U.S. anti imperialist
movie. I thought it was directed towards the teenage audience which as an old activist from the sixies, I thought was great. Wonderful message for youth and who knows where that would go?

In my experience people involved in activism can be motivated by a desire to make the world a better place. They can also be motivated towards activism as a means of emotional indulgence.

It is obvious to any activist that in order to improve the world they need to persuade people who don't think like they do to do so.

An activist motivated by a sincere desire to help the world will change the way they talk upon learning that it hurts getting other people to hear them out.

An activist motivated by emotional indulgence, will not.

Um, name one way in which humans are not an infestation upon the planet. Our numbers have exploded beyond carrying capacity, we denude the landscape and take take take with complete selfishness–destroying our host (Earth) in the process. The term eco-terrorism ( first employed by the FBI ) defines groups who sabotage multi-nationals or other stuff that hurt the environement….

Hurting the ecosystem would kind of go against there ideals….
