New Features on GreenIsTheNewRed.com
Jan 24th, 2008 by Will Potter
GreenIsTheNewRed.com is no Perez Hilton or Pink is the New Blog (which I always thought was a good thing, but good grief do those sites get a ton of hits for such, um, enlightening content). Nevertheless, there are some (fairly) new geektastic features that I hope you all will find useful. Not as useful as that latest Paris Hilton news, but whatevs.
- Below every post, you’ll find some new links for emailing the article to friends. Try it. They’ll love you for it.
- There’s also a button for printing the article, and making it look all nice and neat. A few people had asked for this, because they send the articles to prisoners like the SHAC 7 and the “Operation Backfire” defendants. (There’s a list of prisoner websites in the middle column: check it out and write a letter).
- There’s now an “upcoming events” section, with information on “Green Scare” speaking events, in case you’re nearby and would like to say hello.
- I’ve placed ads on the site, as unobtrusively as possible. What do you think? If they’re annoying to you all, I might just take them down. In the meantime, please click away on them so I can save up for a cup of coffee.
- Finally, there’s also a list of “most popular posts” in the sidebar now. The nature of a blog means that older content is continually pushed down and out of site by the shiny new stuff. Some of the old stuff is pretty good, though. So the posts that get the most hits, through a complicated formula involving a primary system, the electoral college and a dartboard, will be highlighted here.
Are there any other features you’d like to see here?

…as long as you don’t make fun of me working in my firetruck pajamas.
I think it looks great, although I read through an RSS feed reader. The ads don’t seem obtrusive or obnoxious. Maybe we’ll start competing for who gets to post the first comment with the really stupid: FIRST!
Ha! Let the games begin! Perhaps I can find some schwag to sweeten the pot for first-places. GNR koozies?
I use Adblock and read through RSS, but I’ll buy you a cup of coffee when you visit.
GNR koozies?! Bring ‘em on!!
