I think the media saw the word "terrorism" in the bill's title and that was that. In addition, the biomedical research industry has lots of money and plenty of people with MD behind their names to push the spin. You're right. We need to ride our media with questions about their brazen indifference and relate it to other causes for justice: civil rights, labor rights, women's rights, anti-apartheid... since they seem to have no historical perspective. On AOL there was a brief mention of it only to say something to the effect of its targeting activists who threatened researchers, etc.

Could it be that they are also afraid of becoming "terrorists"? I think everyone has something to fear, because this administration stops at nothing when it comes to US citizens, but does nothing in Iraq. I do think we ALL should be contacting the media to to ask why.

I'm also surprised major animal rights celebrities like Bill Maher and Alec Baldwin haven't spoken out
publicly...maybe these folks just don't about it
like the rest of the nation.

Mr.Potter contact Anderson Cooper and Larry King
maybe they'll give you some airtime.

Will,
Why isn't mainstream media covering this? Do you think it's because they and their readers believe it just doesn't affect them because they're not "crazy animal rights people?"

I'd love to see an op-ed piece by you in the NY Times!
